# sketchy

> sketchy is an open-source (MIT) agent skill that makes hand-drawn pencil-sketchbook slide decks, lessons, one-page reports, charts, decision boards, postcards and explainer videos with generative music, as self-contained HTML files that export to PDF, PPTX and MP4. It works with Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, Gemini CLI and any agent that reads SKILL.md skills. Install with `npx skills add OthmanAdi/sketchy`.

The look: graphite on blue-gray paper, one red pencil for the thing that matters, colored-pencil hatching for data, Caveat handwriting for words and Courier Prime for every number. Lines boil at 10 frames per second, pages turn on their spine, stamps slam. Charts start at zero, print units and sources, and keep exact values in a hidden table.

## FAQ

- Is it an Excalidraw or rough.js alternative? It is not built on either; it has its own seeded pencil engine with no dependencies.
- Can it make an editable PowerPoint? Yes, `export-pptx.mjs --mode editable` writes real text boxes over the drawn art.
- Can it match a brand? Yes, a theme is one file of color tokens; put it in `~/.sketchy/themes/`.
- Does it invent numbers? It is told not to: figures come from the user, with sources, benchmarks and units, and charts keep exact values in a hidden table.
